Halloween Countdown..All Hallows' Eve

Tomorrow is Halloween everyone! Yay!
So today is the last day of...

Mr. Bones' Trick or Treat Halloween Countdown...

We hope you've enjoyed our little countdown...Personally I'm kinda glad it's over. Mr. Bones has Hubby, me and our daughter on edge with all his Halloween pranks. I asked him not to prank us anymore.  No more spells, tricks or scares. And he promised he wouldn't pranks us anymore....
But he didn't promise he wouldn't go over to your house and prank you...

Happy Hallow's Eve Everyone.
And watch out for Mr. Bones.

Halloween Countdown...Day Two

Mr. Bones' Trick or Treat Halloween Countdown continues.

So I wonder what Mr. Bones is up to today?

Oh Mr. Bones, did I catch you with your hand in the candy jar?
But what is this?...Are you putting a faux spider in the jar to scare people who want to get some yummy candy corn?
So I guess the tricks begin...

I'm afraid of what trick awaits us tomorrow...Hee, hee, hee.

Halloween Countdown...Day One

Hi Everyone!

I haven't done a countdown in a while now and I thought it would be fun to do one this week for Halloween. So who did I ask to help me?

The Spooktacular Mr. Skelington Bones.
He has chosen to title it Mr. Bones' Trick or Treat Halloween Countdown.
Ooh, I do hope there are more treats than tricks. We'll just have to wait and see.

Let the countdown begin.

Halloween Side Table Vignette

Hi Everyone!

Today we continue with another Halloween inspired vignette.
This is one of my living room's side table...
*Just a little side note: The side table was a RAT (Roadside Acquisition Treasure). Can you believe the things people throw out?!
Okay, now back to the vignette. This black and white calavera was the first piece I bought of my calavera collection. Unfortunately my camera didn't pick up the glitter on the skull. I love glitter!
The skull plate was a Target find of a couple of years ago. And the pretty green pumpkin I made out of green fabric and a cinnamon stick.
The RIP and cute little white pumpkin were found at Dollar Tree.
I think my Halloween inspired side table vignette turned out Boo-tiful...Hee, Hee, Hee. Hope you liked it.

Wishing everyone one a Boo-tiful day.

Halloween coffee table vignette

I can't believe it will be Halloween in a couple of weeks...Yikes! But no worries our little cottage is all dressed up and ready to go. In my last post I shared with you our Halloween inspired mantel and today I'd like to share my coffee table Halloween vignette.
For the past few years I have been slowly incorporating a bit of Dia de los Muertos decor with my Halloween decor. Although Dia de los Muertos is a big part of my cultural heritage it is not really a date we ever celebrate or have celebrated in the past.
But I do love these pretty, artfully and skillfully hand painted calaveras (skulls).
Traditionally they are made out of sugar, however the ones in my collection are all made of clay. This one is my most recent addition. I will be sharing the rest of my collection in the next few posts.
This year I even added a calavera pillow. It was actually a tea towel I found at a 99 Cent store that I made into a pillow cover.
Oh, and no vignette of mind is complete without a little birdie..even if it's a crow...or is it a raven? :-)
I was trying to go for a grown up, stylish Halloween look.
But there is always room for a fun little faux spider.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you all a wonderful new week.

Halloween Inspired Mantel

Halloween has always been a super fun day for me, ever since I was a little girl. I have so many wonderful memories of my mami making my sister's and my costumes and taking us out to trick o' treat.
A tradition I passed down to my daughter, who at the age of 20 still enjoys dressing up and going trick o' treating. Hee, hee, hee. And who also enjoys, along with my hubby, when I decorate for Halloween...I think they have come to expect it every year now ;-)
This year's Halloween inspired mantel I think is my favorite one yet. It was so much fun to put together.
I did use items I already had but also added a couple of new items, like the cute little black and cream pumpkins I got from JoAnn's.
The little skeleton and the paper bats are also new.
Poor Mr. Bones...he looks dead tired...Hee, hee, hee.
Also new is the Trick or Treat glitter sign I got from the 99 cent store and the Boo banner, which I made.
I cut these little bats out of black card stock.
I love how they look.
So there you have Halloween Inspired Mantel. Hope you liked it.

Wishing everyone a beautiful inspiring day.

Feeling Nostalgic

I don't know why but I've been feeling quite nostalgic lately...
Which has had me thinking a lot about this beautiful lady.
This is my grandmother (my mami's mom) Although she left us to be with the angels when I was only a little girl I still remember her quite well, and I miss her very much.
So what does this plate have to do with anything? Well, my grandmother use to own dinnerware just like it. I found this little treasure at a thrift store. The moment I saw it my mind was flooded with wonderful memories of my grandmother so I had to have it. It is a sweet reminder of  her. I use it every morning for my breakfast. It makes me feel like I am back at my grandma's house having breakfast with her. Just thought I'd share.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day.

October is here...

Can you believe we are in October already?
Well, you know what that means, right?
Time to bring out the Halloween decorations.
The above is a new addition to my calavera (skull) collection.
Just love the beautiful artistry of these hand painted calaveras.
Do you decorate for Halloween?

Wishing everyone a very
Happy October!
