Little Rocking Horse

Hello my Sweet Friends.
Today I wanted to share with you my little rocking horse. I bought him a long, long time ago, if memory serves me correctly, at Michael's. He didn't look like this when I first got him though, he was just bare wood, ready to be finished.

He has under gone a couple of changes through the years...First look I gave him was a gold/brass finish to go with my decor from back then. (Sorry, I don't have a picture of him in gold.)

Then, when crackling was all the rage...He got a coat of white paint and a crackled look. Photo below.
And just yesterday I gave him a brand new vintage, weathered look with a bit of black paint to help some of its features pop.
What's old is new/old again....What? Well, I hope you know what I mean. Hee, hee, hee. Hope you like him.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day.

Banner and Sign Projects

Hi Everyone.

As promised, here are the two projects I've been working on.

The first one is the Birthday Banner I told you about on my last post.
I made it out of some recycled cereal boxes plus some music sheet printed from my computer, letters I cut with my Cricut and lots and lots of gold glitter.

Here's a closer look.
Made this pretty little birdcage on my Cricut too.
Did I mention lots of glitter?
The second project is a subway sign...I have seen them all over blogland and I love them so much I just had to jump on the Subway Bandwagon...Hee, hee, hee.
I had a piece of plywood just laying around leftover from a home project.
Gave it a coat of black spray paint.
Traced the words that I designed on my computer and painted them in white, a little bit of antiquing glaze and here it is. Hope you guys liked them.

Wishing everyone a wonderfully creative new week.

A little something to share.

Hubby says I'm his Queen...

May be that's why he got me this sweet little crown...It's a pretty little perfume bottle. Isn't it the cutest thing ever? Just thought I'd share :-)

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Repurposed Shelf

I picked up this pretty little shelf at a shop called The Paris Flea Market while on vacation.

The moment I saw it I knew what I wanted to use it for and it was not for its intended purpose.

I really didn't have to do anything to it but turn it upside down.

And voila, an instant decorative platter/tray holder.

So what do you think?

Hi Everyone!

We've been away on a little family road-trip this past week. We drove up north to...

Sequoia National Park...home of the world's largest tree. It was our first time there and we had so much fun...Thought I'd share a few pictures.

As you drive into the park from the south side, through Ash Mountain, this is one of the many beautiful sites you come across. It is Tunnel Rock... a very big "balancing" granite boulder. Underneath is a tunnel which was dug for the roadway back in 1938. The road now bypasses the tunnel but visitors can walk beneath it.

As we drove higher, higher, and higher into mountains we began to see more and more of the white stuff...SNOW!!!! Yay!

Our first day there we just had to visit General Sherman...Who is General Sherman you say?....Well, only the largest tree on earth...

The pictures really do not do it any justice. It is unreal how enormous this tree really is. Absolutely breathtaking.

Okay, I'm not going to bore you with a ton of more pictures, but just let me tell you that on our stay there we got to rock climb, site see, hike and even play in the snow.... Well, maybe just two more pictures...sorry :-)

Hubby and me atop of Moro Rock. Can you tell how scared we were? We were sooooo high up!

Our daughter making her very first snow angel. This is only the second time that we've experienced snow. We had so much fun.

Oh wait...Just one more picture...Promise it'll be the last.
I also got to visit my very first Hobby Lobby on this trip. It was in Visalia, a town about 20 minutes away from Sequoia. We don't have one here and since I've heard many of you sweet blogging friends talk about it, I just had to stop by...Yay! I love, love, loved it! Hee, hee, hee.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit...I've missed you all very much. Can't wait to come over for a visit. Hope everyone had a beautiful and blessed Easter.
