Kitchen Cabinet....Check

This cabinet has been on my list of things to do for a while now and I am happy to say that yesterday I was finally able to check it off my list...Yay!

I'm ashamed to say that it had become a sort of catch-all...It was unorganized, messy and not a pretty sight. (Note: To spare myself the embarrassment I will NOT be showing you a before picture :-P )

Let's take a peek inside and see how it looks now.
On the top shelf I have part of my white pitcher collection, plus my beautiful little birdie teapot my cousin Irma gave me for my birthday.

This is the center shelf. (Below you'll find close up pictures of the goodies on this shelf.)

And last but not least, this is the bottom shelf. (More close up pictures of this shelf below.)

Okay, one project down... Now off to the next one :-)
Thank you everyone for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

A Long, Long Time Ago...

Well, maybe not that long ago... More like a month ago...

There was a young and handsome Jedi...(My BIL Julio)

Who needed a Jedi cloak for a "J" party... (A costume party of sorts where everyone dresses up as a character whose name begins with the letter "J"... By the way, the party can be any letter you choose.

He knew of a wise and crafty seamstress (that would be me, LOL)... who would be willing and able to handle his request.

( Finished cloak... And I'm still waiting for pictures of my BIL wearing the cloak and rest of his costume ...Julio, I'm waiting.)

So what did this wise and crafty seamstress get in return? Not that she asked for anything or was expecting anything. She is always happy to help ;-)

She got this beautiful piece....Can you believe it?

This piece was given to my BIL by one of his girlfriend's neighbors...He knew how much I had liked it when I first saw it in his garage... plus I made sure to tell him that I didn't think it was his style...wink, wink, wink :-) Well, since I wouldn't take his money for the cloak, we traded...his piece for my sewing skills...I just couldn't say no to that.

You're a sweetie Julio...Thank you...I love it and I love you!

Now to work some magic on it...I think I might paint it and antique it a bit...

Thank you all for stopping by today.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.

It's Another Makeover

I wanted to give our petite porch a fresh new look for the spring and summer months...And after playing around with a few ideas this is what I came up with...

So here is what I did...I added an old chair, some pretty flowers, a little birdhouse and a few other garden accessories. I think I like how it turned out, but.....

This little watering pitcher, which I've had for a while now, is just not fitting in. I was really into sunflowers a few years back, but now, not so much. I think it's time to give it a little makeover.

First, I removed as much of the paint as I could...I was afraid if I didn't the sunflowers would show through when I sprayed painted it and I would end up having to give it several coats.

Two light coats was all it needed.

Then I put together a design on my photo shop program and printed it out.

All that was left to do was to decoupage and seal it. Easy as that.

It actually turned out cuter than I thought it would. Hmmm, I think I might bring it inside instead :-)

Hope you are all having a great week.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Hope you come back again real soon.

"How Times Have Changed"

Boy, I never, ever thought I would hear myself say those words. When I was growing up I'd hear my grandfather say them all the time. And they were always followed by "I remember when..." I remember thinking he was just being old fashion...

Well, yesterday as I watched my little nephew playing videos games I thought to myself... "Boy, how times have changed" followed by "I remember when..." Yikes!

Okay, okay, so I'm old fashion. But you know, although simpler and way, way, waaaaaay less expensive, the games I played with as a child were definitely as entertaining and fun as those videos games....If not more so.

Do you remember these?

Pin Jacks were my favorite! Is that what they're called? That's what I use to call them when I was little. They were so much fun...Love, love, love them.

I'm not sure if the aunt who gave me this necklace for my 10th birthday knew just how much I love jacks...but back then and still today it's one of my most favorite, special and treasured piece of jewelry.

Here's a closer look.

So what was your favorite game or toy growing up?

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Blessings to all.

Hi Everyone!

I'm still here...

I haven't been feeling like myself lately. Haven't had the energy to do much, but today I gathered just enough to pop in to say hello and to show you my hydrangeas. Yay!

About a year ago I did a post on how much I love hydrangeas and how I use to grow some. Anyway, of all the plants I had only one little cutting survived... (Click here if you would like to read the story)

I didn't think this little guy would make it. There was no signs of life until last year when it filled up with beautiful green leaves....but no flowers :-(

But look at it now....Yay!

The two pictures above were taken a few days ago...I'm so excited!

The next pictures are of today. The blossoms are getting bigger. I cannot wait to see what color they're going to be. You see, I had two different color hydrangea plants, a fuchsia and lavender and I can't remember of which one this is from...Makes it even more exciting. Don't you think?

Grow little flower, grow!

What color do you think it'll be?

To be continued....

Hugs and Kisses,
